Nuestra Historia

Three
Generations,
One Comal

El Chato started in 1998 as a single griddle in the back of a borrowed truck, parked under a flickering streetlight on La Brea. Don Refugio — "El Chato" to everyone — sold asada to bar crowds and line cooks getting off late shifts.

Almost thirty years later, the recipes haven't changed. The marinade is still mixed by hand. The tortillas are still pressed to order. The line is still around the block at 1AM.

We're a family operation, and you're family the second you order. Welcome to the corner.
